Usually most of people use drywall to get covered wall but i would like to suggest you for plywood. You can use 3/4" or 1" thick plywood on the wall which will provide full protection to your wall. I have covered my room wall with 1" thick plywood and it is works very well. What are you like to do and what are you think about plywood?
